6 Best Welding Carts of 2024 – Reviews & Top Picks
Last Updated on
Why would a welder buy a welding cart when one can easily be made? While carts can be simple to make, the features of some manufactured welding carts and their cost often make them faster, more affordable, and all-around better options than making them from scratch. There are plenty online to choose from, and these reviews show our six favorites.
They all sit at a low price range, and some include multiple shelves, drawers, cabinetry, and hard-wearing powder-coated finishes. We hope this helps you find what you’re looking for.

The 6 Best Welding Carts
1. ZENY Portable Welding Cart – Best Overall
The affordable ZENY Portable Welding Welder Cart includes four drawers and a separate shelf for resting items in an accessible spot while you weld. The top shelf is higher up than some other carts, which we like as it’s easy to adjust the welder settings and parts without needing to bend down.
Consumables can be kept away from dust and dirt, which is a huge bonus. It’s also surprisingly light while capable of taking 100 pounds of weight on the top tray, excluding the bottle.
It has a tidy paint job, but we would prefer a powder-coated finish. However, for the price, along with everything else it offers, this is our favorite cart.
- Four lockable drawers
- Separate shelf
- Bottle section with dual chain clamp
- Overall dimensions: 6” x 15.4” x 28.3”
- Welder tray size: 11” x 17.5”
- Weight: 19 pounds
- Weight capacity excluding bottle: 100 pounds
- Painted finish
2. Hot Max WC100 Welding Cart
Our runner-up cart is the Hot Max WC100, which has an appealing powder-coated finish. It’s a bit heavier than Zeny’s portable cart, but it’s a similar height and the right size for most portable welders or plasma cutters.
This cart is designed with plenty of open space, which is desirable for storing items you need to use on the job and don’t mind exposing to a bit of grinding dust or workshop dirt. It would be nice to have a sealed-off space on this cart, but there’s enough room for a consumables box if desired.
There are also no lockable features, so it’s not ideal for keeping items safe when you’re away. However, for what it’s designed for, this cart is top-quality and would make an excellent addition to any workshop or hobbyist welder’s garage.
- Powder-coated finish
- Bottle section with dual chain clamp
- Overall dimensions: 33” x 13” x 29”
- Welder tray size: 17-3/4″ x 12-1/8″
- Weight: 34.1 pounds
- Weight capacity excluding bottle: 100 pounds
- Two shelves
- No drawers
- No lockable features
3. Yaheetech 3-Tier Welding Cart – Best Value
The Yaheetech 3-Tier Welding Cart is incredibly low-priced and can bear a hefty 176 pounds worth of items on it. It isn’t as easily moved around when it’s maxed to its load capacity, but if it doesn’t have too much on it, the cart is smooth to glide around.
The dual chain clamp works well to secure your welding bottle tightly to the cart frame, and the height is ideal for accessing your welding easily. It comes with a painted finish which is well done, but not as durable as powder-coating. But overall, it’s an affordable option and the best for your money among the online carts we reviewed.
- Weight: 25.3 pounds
- Overall dimensions: 6” x 15.7” x 36.2”
- Welder tray size: 10.8” x 17.7”
- Bottle section with dual chain clamp
- Weight capacity excluding bottle: 176 pounds
- Two shelves
- No drawers
- Painted finish
4. Klutch Compact Locking Welding Cart
The Klutch Compact Locking Welding Cabinet is a top-quality option for its price range. It’s slightly more expensive than our first three ranked carts, but it’s made well and is smooth to push around with a significant weight on it.
It’s useful having the lockable cabinet under where the welder sits, but it doesn’t have any external shelves like Zeny’s portable welding cart. However, it’s nicely powder-coated and includes a dual chain clamp, even though it’s smaller in height and can handle 135 pounds of weight excluding the bottle.
It’s designed for carrying a bottle, so if you’re carting things around without a bottle on the back, it doesn’t work as well due to its need for weight on top of the back wheels.
- Weight: 47 pounds
- Overall dimensions: 32” x 19” x 26”
- Welder tray size: 13” x 21”
- Bottle section with dual chain clamp
- Weight capacity excluding bottle: 135 pounds
- Lockable cabinet
- Powder-coated finish
- No drawers
- No shelves
5. Metal Man Universal UWC2 Welding-Cart
The Metal Man UWC2 is a quality powder-coated cart that’s heavy-duty and comes with a useful angle to easily access the welder or plasma cutting settings. It’s a little short for what we like, as you must bend over when using the welder on it, but it’s helpful that the handle can be unclipped out of the way when loading and unloading the welder.
There are no lockable features on this. It only comes with a single chain clamp, which works, but not as well as the dual chain clamps other carts have. It rolls around nearly as well with weight as without it, but it doesn’t feel as smooth to turn around as other carts due to the unusual wheel placement.
If you want a smaller open-styled welding cart, this is a worthwhile option to consider due to what it comes with at its price, but it’s not our favorite cart.
- Weight: 29.3 pounds
- Overall dimensions: 42” x 16” x 28”
- Welder tray size: 12-5/8”x 22-7/8”
- Weight capacity excluding bottle: 110 pounds
- Powder-coated finish
- No drawers
- One storage tray
- No lockable features
- Bottle section’s single-chain clamp
6. Lincoln Wire Feeder Welder Cart
Lincoln Electric often makes quality products, and the Wire Feeder Welder Cart is one of its more affordable items, but we don’t like the design as much as other carts. Out of all the carts available online, it’s one of the lowest to the ground. This makes accessing the welder uncomfortable, as you must bend down, and the handle partially blocks access to the welder.
It’s light and smooth to move around both loaded and unloaded, but it doesn’t suit large gas bottles. There is no chain to secure them because they sit inside a hole in the top of the cart.
This is our least favorite cart of those we have reviewed. However, if you desire a light and low option for carting a welder and small bottle around, this is a good choice.
- Weight: 11.75 pounds
- Weight capacity excluding bottle: 130 pounds
- No drawers
- No lockable features
- One tight storage tray
- Overall dimensions: 28” x 14” x 21”
- Bottle section with no securing chain
Conclusion
Buying a welding cart is a worthwhile option to save money with if you want one with a quality coating like a decent paint job or some powder-coating. If you want features like drawers, cabinets, and shelves that are lightweight but sturdy without taking you hours to make, buying is the way to go.
Of the range of different options available online, our favorite is the ZENY Portable Welding Welder Cart MIG TIG ARC Plasma Cutter Tank Storage Welding Cabinet 4 Drawers w/2 Safety Chains. It’s very affordable, lightweight, and gives a wide range of both sealed and lockable storage options along with open-spaced shelving.
The cart we thought was the best for your money is the Yaheetech 3-Tier Welding Cart MIG TIG ARC Plasma Cutter Welder Welding Cart Universal W/Tank Storage. It’s one of the lowest-priced online and does an excellent job at storing welding gear while keeping it secure and accessible.
